Artist Statement
"I create forms that balance bare physicality with active identity; that speak to a vertical relationship reaching from the groundwork of reality's complex nuances to our suspended awareness of 'being'".
Identity is probably one of most important components of our existence. From understanding who and what you are you develop a foundation to which you reconcile and engage in all the elements of life from knowledge/reason, purpose, emotions and relationships to death. My work is an investigation of identity. In my forms I abstract and re-puzzle different landscapes of human nature and experience in an attempt to expose/emphasize uniquely latent expressions of being.
My process is largely intuitive. Preliminary sketches are sourced but I allow each art piece to mutate through development as my intentions and aesthetic direction unfolds.
