Artist Statement
"I create forms that balance bare physicality with active identity; that speak to a vertical relationship reaching from the groundwork of reality's complex nuances to our suspended awareness of 'being'".
Identity is one of the most significant components of our existence. From understanding who and what you are you develop a foundation from which you become further aware, examining and getting educated in elements and perspectives of life: science, society, justice and reason, purpose, mortality, and so on. My work is an investigation of identity. Through a creative process that is largely intuitive I abstract and re-puzzle different landscapes of human nature and experience in an attempt to uniquely emphasize the layered beauty, unified depth and pleading tensions of life.
